Nursery is Done!

Here is a video tour of the nursery, this was my first attempt to use our new video camera (until now, Jody's been hogging it to terrorize the cats), so pardon the not so expert camera work.

35 Weeks

We have made it to 35 weeks!  We are now visiting the doctor weekly, and starting next week the doctor will begin checking to see if I'm dilating.  Also, if I go into labor now, he won't do anything to stop it.  Yay!  Finally a dim light at the end of the tunnel!  My goals for this weekend are to get the nursery wrapped up (I'll post pictures of the finished product once it's done), get my hospital bag ready to go (precautionary measure), and try to get some of Taylor's clothes washed so we don't have to bring her home naked.  I'll try to start posting weekly after my doctors' appointments to keep everyone in the loop.

33 Weeks

As you can see I'm still growing, but fortunately it seems to have slowed down a bit (either that, or as I've mentioned before maybe I'm just in denial as to my hugeness).  Jody and I are definitely on the countdown to meet Taylor,  and we've spent the last week trying to get the nursery into some sort of recognizable order.  If anyone wants to come help......

As far as everything else goes, sadly our lives are revolving around work.  Jody has actually been a little slow (go figure, I finally go to work and he finally gets a little down time) at work, so he has been enjoying tending his patio garden and has been really helpful with getting things done around the house.  I've been going full speed ahead at the hospital, and I'm realizing that I don't think there's going to be a shortage of hours for me even though I'm just working PRN.  Definitely a good problem to have!

Jody's Birthday Cookout

Jody turned 30 this last week, and since we were in Amarillo for the shower, we decided to have a cookout with family and friends to celebrate.  Everyone rocked out in the Hereford's back yard with Albuquerque golf (or rodeo golf, I've heard it called several different names) and good food.  And since no birthday celebration would be complete without cake, we even had an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery.  If you have not had the pleasure of tasting their cakes, I highly recommend it.  However, be sure and let it set out for a few minutes before you try to cut it, one of Stacy's knives suffered a casualty as a result of the super frozen ice cream!

Jody and me co-cooking (I promise, I really did help!)

The birthday boy blows out the candles.

A meeting of the minds, this could be scary ;)

Baby Shower!

We ventured to Amarillo this past weekend for our baby shower.  Once again, thank you to all of our guests and hostesses, it was a HUGE success!  Seriously, for those of you that didn't go, I must rub it in that you missed out on what was possibly the best baby shower ever.  We had mimosas (including some with non-alcoholic champagne for me), sausage balls, cupcakes, and possibly the world's tastiest quiche.  But it wasn't just about the food, my hostesses really went out of their way to put up adorable decorations, and as a super bonus, they didn't even make me play any of the games that are usually required at such a function (again, THANK YOU for that).  We received many gifts, and I'm pretty sure I won't be needing to buy Taylor clothes until she hits kindergarten.  Thanks again to everyone, it was wonderful seeing you all!  Now if anyone wants to come down and help me figure out where all of this stuff goes.......

Checking out my super fancy burp cloths, they're so pretty I'm afraid to use them!

A good portion of our loot (it wouldn't all fit on the bed).

The adorable letters Layci painted.  I swear she is the most talented person I know.

My super awesome hostesses, for some reason my camera was doing weird effects with the lighting.

The diaper cake that Mandy made, cute and functional!

31 Weeks

Woo-hoo!  The countdown has made it into the single digits!  I can't believe we're only 9 weeks away from my due date!  I have to say, I am ready to meet our baby (and even more ready to not feel like I'm starring in "Invasion of the Body Snatchers").  So far everything has still been going very smoothly, I may have leapt off the wagon as far as watching my sodium goes though.  I've gone a little berserk the last few days and boy is it really taking a toll.  My hands are swollen to the point that it's difficult to make a fist in the mornings, and I'm not even going to discuss my feet (I noticed them jiggle earlier, 'nuff said).  So, I guess I need to start being a little more conscious of my diet.......  Taylor is still growing like a weed, and now when she moves it's VERY visible.  I'm pretty sure she's running out of room, which is a bad thing considering we still have two months to go!

In other news, I FINALLY graduated from school, and I also managed to land a job at the hospital that I've been doing clinicals at.  I start work on Monday, and we are both excited that all the school stuff is finally coming to fruition.  With employment lined up, we are also frantically trying to get daycare nailed down (the lady we had gotten squared away with has flaked out on us, so now we're back at square one).   We also have our shower coming up in Amarillo next weekend, and we are very much looking forward to seeing our friends and family.  Not so much excited about the drive, but it's a necessary evil!

No, that's not a beach ball, I still maintain I look so huge because of water retention.......

Is That a Goiter????

Seriously, I knew going into this that I would lose all semblance of the once petite ankles I used to have.  But when I looked down at my ankles tonight, specifically the right one I noticed that there is apparently a baseball lodged under my skin!  Seriously, what the hell is that thing?  And it's only on one side to boot, so I guess my ankle is channeling Quasi-modo.......  Sorry, but this was too gross not to share, and please don't judge me for my ugly toes, I can't reach them to paint them anymore!

Not only is it huge, it's even lopsided.
