29 Weeks

We had another sonogram today and Taylor is weighing in at a healthy 3 lb. 1 oz.  We were really excited to get some clear shots of her face, they aren't quite as good as the ones we had at the hospital the other night, but given the circumstances behind that exam, I felt awkward asking the tech to print them out for us.  The doctor says everything is right on track, and my placenta has moved up away from my cervix (YAY!!!), so no placenta previa!  Taylor is still as active as ever, rarely staying still for more than a few minutes.  Jody and I are beginning to wonder if we'll ever get any sleep after she arrives, she seems to be especially active at night.

Here she is!  getting so much bigger!

Here is a close up of her face.  You can see the eyes, nose, and mouth.  I can't help but think her lips look a little bit like the Joker in this shot!

And here's me, still ballooning out.

Cleo Digs Flowers

Sorry, but I thought this was way too cute.  I received flowers today from some of the girls that Jody works with, and Cleo was definitely intrigued.  She sniffed them for a good 5 minutes, and I gotta admit, who could blame her, they do smell fantastic!

Fender Bender

Yesterday on my way home from school some jackass on the freeway decided to just stop completely in the middle of traffic.  The result was a four-car pileup, of which I got to be lucky car number three.  And of course, the idiot that caused the whole mess didn't even pull over, but instead drove away.  So, there may have actually been another car that got hit, but because he chose to drive off, we'll never know for sure.

Let me assure everyone I'M OKAY!  I promise (really mom, I mean it!).  I am a little sore from the seatbelt, and my neck is a little tender from the impact, but otherwise I'm great.  My doctor did have me to go to the hospital to get checked out since the seatbelt was right across my belly (no, I didn't have it down low like I'm supposed to, that's not one of those things I really was stringent about checking.  Believe me, I will from now on though.).  They put me on the monitor, did a sonogram, and did some blood work to ensure there was no internal bleeding and finally around 11:00 last night we got to come home.  Fortunately, Jody was able to be there with me the entire time (thank God, I don't know what I would have done without him), and being the awesome husband he is, even went to get me Whataburger for supper.  Taylor is also doing great, we did discover from the hours of monitoring that she has Jody's restless tendencies, the kid didn't stop moving the entire time we were there!  This sonogram also showed us that she already has some hair, not surprising at all if you take a good look at Jody ;)  I didn't get any pictures from yesterday, but I'm scheduled for another sono at my doctor's office tomorrow, so I'll probably have them posted along with another update then.

As for my car, well, it's already at the body shop, and as you can see from the pictures below, it could have been a lot worse.  Apparently Jody and I are just going to be cursed with bad car luck for a while.  I'm just glad our insurance agent talked me into adding rental coverage when Jody totaled the Nissan last year.  Hopefully this is our last run of bad luck and everything will just even out now!

27 Weeks

As you can see, I am still expanding rapidly!  It's amazing to look at yourself in pictures, because that's really when I realize just how big I'm getting.  Maybe I just have a really good self-image (either that or I'm delusional!).  Taylor is getting bigger every day, and kicking like a madwoman every night.  It seems that once I lie down to relax a little is when she decides to kick it into high gear.  I can definitely feel her up in my ribcage more and more, to the point that some days it almost feels as if I have a rib out of place!  I realize she's not kicking that hard, but I guess she's figured out how to press on a nerve or two.

In other excitement, I received my Texas Department of Health temporary license, which means I can now legally shoot x-rays for pay!  I'm still not 100% out of the woods yet though.  I still have 3 weeks of school plus my national registry test after I graduate.  Once that's all done though it ought to be smooth sailing!  Now, all I need is a job.......

*seriously, I think I need a shirt that says "Goodyear"

Strange Dream

I had an extremely weird dream last night that I feel compelled to share with you all.  Anyone who has been pregnant will tell you that for some odd reason your subconscious kicks into overdrive once you get knocked up.  I mean seriously, I have seen foreign art films that make more sense to me than the crap I dream of now.  Last night was no exception to the rule.  I dreamed that I went into labor, so we went to the hospital.  Everything went pretty routine and I had the baby, only it was a KITTEN?!?!?  Seriously, I felt so cheated that I had been so good for all these months only to have another damn cat.  And to make matters worse, as we were going home the hospital threw in a duck for good measure (I HATE birds, they scare the shit out of me).  Seriously?  I woke up a little freaked out, then I remembered that we've had oodles of sonograms and surely someone would have noticed by now if I was carrying a baby that wasn't human. Like I said, Freddy Krueger's got nothing on me.......
