Happy 4th of July everyone! This year due to my ever-expanding girth, we decided to stick close to home and lay low for the Fourth. Also due to the fireworks ban, it just didn't really seem like a very festive holiday. We did however, decide to attempt the parade/fair in Canyon. We quickly learned that a two-year old + a big crowd = BAD IDEA. To boot, the parade didn't actually start until almost 11:00 (Even though it was scheduled to start at 10:30, but I digress.), and Taylor typically goes down for a nap around that time. So needless to say, the fact that she couldn't roam freely coupled with the unfortunate timing of the event lead to us leaving about 10 minutes after the parade started lest we endure the kicking and screaming for the duration. Not that we were terribly disappointed, after you've seen one small town parade, you've pretty much seen them all. Jody and I have realized that the formula for a small town parade is this: Round up every emergency vehicle, horse, veteran, and classic car within a 30-mile radius. Next, throw some candy. Ta-da! You have yourself a parade!
Anyhoo, the lesson was learned. I think we may attempt the WD Rodeo parade this year, because if she wants to run free out there at least the crowd is a lot smaller and I don't have to worry about her getting lost/abducted.

Miss America before the ponytails were wollered out and the outfit was spotted with red Kool-Aid.

Taking a break from the stroller to smell the flowers on the courthouse lawn. This was the happiest she was all morning because we could let her run around.

Yeah, tell me she doesn't look like her daddy.
